Resumen

CHIARADIA, Ricardo. An Epistemological Investigation of Paradigms in Emotional Health. Rev. Psicol. IMED [online]. 2017, vol.9, n.2, pp.142-155. ISSN 2175-5027.  https://doi.org/10.18256/2175-5027.2017.v9i2.1858.

The purpose of this article is to identify how certain paradigms were established and originated certain psychological/philosophical theories with repercussion in the area of emotional health. Due to the complexity of the objective, a research-critical position is presented that the human sciences are constituted through discursive practices, which automatically involves paradigms of how the objective language of psychological science relates to the subjective language of the individual. The method of narrative revision through the scientific literature seeks to encompass an understanding of the reductionism produced by Cartesian thought over the centuries, and the different currents of thought: Freudian Psychoanalysis, Humanistic Psychiatry, Phenomenology, Testing and Psychological Evaluation. After the theoretical discussion about the difficulties, facilitation and paradigms that each theory possesses, through the familiarity provided with analogies of characters from fictional literature, it is necessary to conclude a cultural-scientific platform of the professional that involves not only the abstract understanding of the theory, but as well as the possible fanatical representations of the profession generated by common sense, which involves the purpose of that profession.
