Anxiety and depression are frequent complaints in our society. The Health Centers (UBSs) became a field of action for psychologists, who seek to understand the health/disease process. The objective of this research is to evaluate group psychotherapy in the treatment of patients with anxiety and depression. It is a research of the exploratory type, with a qualitative approach. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with patients of a group psychotherapy for the treatment of anxious and depressive symptoms in a Health Center. The sample was constituted by eight participants, a semi-structured questionnaire was applied in the pre and post group psychotherapy time, the interviews were recorded, transcribed and analyzed seeking to identify relevant points to respond to the objectives of this work. It can be considered that group psychotherapy was effective in the following aspects: greater verbalization of patients; better identification of symptoms; greater orientation and awareness about treatments and drug consumption.
