Biopolitics plots net a number of cases involving girls and fatherly figures, either step fathers, godfathers or fathers. The author’s search delves into two classical texts of the Brazilian literature: A normalista [The normal school pupil] (1893), by Adolfo Caminha; and Gabriela, Cravo e Canela [Gabriela, Carnation and Cinnamon] (1958), by Jorge Amado.
