Resumen

MARTINS, Victor M. Nobre. Deleuze, Guattari, Freud and the problem of the personality. Rev. Epos [online]. 2015, vol.6, n.1, pp.65-86. ISSN 2178-700X.

This article aims to question the notion of personality in Freud from the criticisms of Deleuze and Guattari about a supposed freudian personology. Suchpersonology would imply an unification of the subject, a territorialization of subjectivity. However, proposing such an impersonal perspective of the subjectivation processes and using Freud as counterexample, Deleuze and Guattari do not seem to take into account, among others, of a fundamental aspect of the freudian metapsychology: the theoretical effort of Freud in decompose psychic personality. From the reading of fragments of the text The decomposition of psychic personality (1932) of Freud - where he presents the three psychic instances of personality on his second topical (ego, supergo and id) - and fragments of The Anti-Œdipus (1972) and A thousand Plateaus (1980) of Deleuze and Guattari - where they criticize the freudian model of personality -, we think the distance between the theoretical position of the freudian personality decomposition and the deleuze-guattarian propositions of an unification of the personality. Through a confrontation between such texts, we try to outline an analysis of the usage that Deleuze and Guattari did from Freud’s text and the place to which they set in the vast pantheon of readers of the founder of psychoanalysis.

Palabras clave : Freud; Deleuze; Guattari; personality.
