The present study aimed to investigate, from psychoanalysis, the subjective effects of family users a Psychosocial Care Center in the city of Uberaba, Minas Gerais, after the diagnosis of mental disorder. According to surveys, suffering and insecurity are constant in the family before the situation of mental impairment. For the process of data collection was chosen by way of semi-structured interview and created a script containing fifteen questions, which were applied to five family members. Obtained results as overhead feelings, guilt, overprotection, infantilization and fear. Among them, subjective charge and overprotection were most likely appeared in the interviews, which is related to the fact that caregivers have little confidence in the autonomy of their relatives suffering from mental distress.
