This study describes the meanings of group work and ethical decision making among clinical and organizational psychologists. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with ten psychologists about ethical principles, ethical dilemmas, professional ethics training and group ethics. It was analyzed qualitatively accordingly to content analysis. The main results pointed to: an ethical conduct based on personal and professional experiences; an absence of professional training for group work; the confidentiality as a fundamental principle for group work; a distinction between ethics-in-use and that proposed by the Code of Ethics; the perception of a greater ethical demand in group work. These understandings invite a reflection about the psychologists' training for group work and its implications for an ethical practice.
