CASSORLA, Roosevelt M. S.. The seduction of death: anniversary reactions, Álvares de Azevedo, Guimarães Rosa and Friedrich Nietzsche. []. , 43, 72, pp.69-82. ISSN 0101-3106.

ABSTRACT Based on the biographical study of the Brazilian poet Álvares de Azevedo, hypotheses are formulated about factors that influenced him to predict his death. Identification processes that are manifested through associations with dates, ages and other temporal factors are studied, situations called anniversary reactions. It is assumed that Álvares de Azevedo could not reach the fifth year of the law school, identified with the death of his brother and fellow students, which occurred in the fourth year. Next, similar facts occurred with the writer Guimarães Rosa, died three days after his inauguration at the Academia Brasileira de Letras, and with the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, identified with his father, are discussed. The text ends with the report of clinical situations.

: anniversary reactions; mourning; Álvares de Azevedo; Guimarães Rosa; Friedrich Nietzsche.
