^lpt^aRetomam-se as primeiras sessões do Caso Elisabeth à luz do procedimento de tratamento de ensaio a fim de aproximar essa técnica de um conjunto de intervenções que, nesse contexto, recebem o nome de tratamento placebo. Este constitui uma reação a um impasse clínico envolvendo uma questão diagnóstica a partir do qual Freud se interroga sobre a adequação da paciente ao tratamento. Ao mesmo tempo que verifica as condições para o início do tratamento, Freud busca instaurar uma discursividade fundamentada no saber inconsciente. Quatro eixos norteiam sua investigação: o destino dos afetos; a repercussão do sintoma nos vínculos sociais e na capacidade de fruição; as expressões de prazer evocadas pela estimulação das zonas histerógenas e as manifestações do recalcado na condição de formações do inconsciente. Produz-se então a transição de uma abordagem médica para uma outra, psicoterápica e analítica, ainda em construção.
