The aim of this article is to raise aspects of psychoanalytic conceptions about groups and theoretical and technical discussions about the proposition of groups with autistic children in institutions. Throughout the work, we discussed the group formation process; the group theoretical assumptions coined by René Kaës and the possibility of groups with mediating objects. At the end, we present a brief analysis of the group reality and groups with mediating objects with autistic children in a CAPSi. We understand that this specificity of action is still incipient, requiring further studies. However, we see potential in the proposal of group intervention to work on various demands such as difficulties in associative capacity, in the perception of oneself and the other, in interaction, among others that are commonly present in autism. In our research, the results show that there was a positive evolution in all participating children.
