^lpt^aEste artigo objetivou investigar a síndrome de burnout em estudantes de um curso técnico de enfermagem. Procurou identificar também a existência de associação entre variáveis demográficas e escolares e fatores de estresse numa amostra de 255 estudantes. Como instrumentos de pesquisa foi utilizado um questionário, elaborado especificamente para este estudo, para levantar as variáveis demográficas e escolares e a avaliação sobre os fatores de estresse. Para avaliar burnout utilizou-se o MBI-SS (Maslach Burnout Inventory - Student Survey), forma adaptada para estudantes do MBI- GS- Maslach Burnout Inventory - General Survey). O estudo analisa as três dimensões de burnout: exaustão emocional, descrença e eficácia profissional. Os resultados evidenciaram não existir relação significativa entre burnout e variáveis demográficas. Entre as variáveis escolares, somente a “não ter realizado estágio” demonstrou associação à exaustão emocional. Já os fatores de estresse apresentaram relação com todas as dimensões de burnout. Os resultados apontam para ações de prevenção em relação a burnout.^len^aThis article investigates Burnout syndrome in students of a nursing technical course. It tried to identify the correlation between demographic and school variables and stress factors in a sample of 255 students. As research instrument was used a questionnaire, elaborated specifically for this study, to find out the demographic and school variables and the evaluation on the stress factors. To evaluate burnout was used the MBI-SS (Maslach Burnout Inventory - Student Survey), an adapted form for students of MBI (Maslach Burnout Inventory - General Survey). The study analyses three burnout dimensions: emotional exhaustion, disbelief and professional effectiveness. The results evidenced that doesn’t exist significant relation between burnout and demographic variables. Among school variables, only the “don’t have accomplished apprenticeship” demonstrated correlation to the emotional exhaustion. Stress factors presented relation with all burnout dimensions. The results point to prevention actions regarding burnout.
