^lpt^aO presente artigo trata de uma síntese dos dados referentes à pesquisa de adaptação brasileira do teste de inteligência WISC-III (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Third Edition), desenvolvida como trabalho de mestrado e doutoramento da principal autora deste trabalho. Os resultados obtidos, até então, evidenciam que o teste mantém as características psicométricas originais nas amostras brasileiras pesquisadas, necessitando, entretanto, de algumas alterações nos itens dos subtestes verbais, principalmente em Informação e Vocabulário^len^aThis article presents a synthesis of data concerning the Brazilian adaptation of the WISC-III (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Third Edition) developed during master e doctor researches of the main author of the present study. The results showed that the original psychometric characteristics of the test appear also with the Brazilian samples, although some difficulties have arisen in the case of the verbal subtests and changes are necessary particularly in the Information and Vocabulary subtests
