A literatura da área ressalta a história de abuso físico, sexual e psicológico que estas crianças e adolescentes sofreram até chegarem ao ato extremo de assassinar seus pais. Este trabalho relata o tratamento psicoterápico realizado com um adolescente matricida e discute a influência das variáveis familiares (negligência, abuso físico, psicológico e sexual intrafamiliar) como determinantes do matricídio.^len^aMatricide is defined as the mother's homicide committed by a son or a daughter. This field's literature points to the history of psychological, sexual, and physical abuse which those children and adolescents suffered until they reached the extreme behavior of killing their parents. This paper reports the psychotherapy treatment conducted with a matricide adolescent, and discusses the influence of family variables (neglect, physical, psychological and sexual abuse within the family) as matricide determinants.
