VORSATZ, Ingrid. Ethical status of the Unconscious and the psychoanalyst's presence. []. , 38, 34, pp.173-185. ISSN 1413-6295.

Considering Freud's conceptualization of the Unconscious and its review by Lacan, the author discusses the ethical consequences of this proposition. Lacan's statement on Freudian concept of the Unconscious (das Unbewusste) is briefly described as a fundamental concept (Grundbegriff) of the psychoanalytical field. The paper highlights Lacan's proposition of the Unconscious as a concept of lack, emphasizing its ethical status and proposing that this, on one hand, summons the subject to take responsibility towards the Unconscious' desire. On the other hand, the psychoanalyst's presence is required.
