^lpt^aO artigo discute as noções de terrorismo e de terror numa perspectiva psicanalítica. Com Freud, podemos questionar a divisão do mundo em duas partes: nós e eles, razão e violência bruta, bárbaros e civilizados; o que nos permite escapar dos clichês e da hierarquia de modos de ser. Com Ferenczi, podemos perceber que o que aterroriza um sujeito não é a violência física, mas o fato de seu sofrimento não ser reconhecido. Uma articulação entre as ideias de Ferenczi e do filósofo Axel Honneth permite-nos entender o descrédito como problema social e político, problema que o psicanalista tunisiano Fethi Benslama associa à indústria de mártires do jihadismo.^len^aIn this paper I intend to discuss the notions of terror and terrorism from a psychoanalytical perspective. With Freud, we can question the idea of splitting the world: they and we, reason and brutal violence, barbarians and civilized. In this way, we can escape from the clichés and from the presupposition of a hierarchy of cultures and ways of being. With Ferenczi, we can notice that what terrifies someone is not physical violence in itself, but the fact that his suffering may not be recognized. An articulation of Ferenczi's and philosopher Axel Honneth's ideas allow us to understand denial as a political and social problem, which the Tunisian psychoanalyst Fethi Benslama associates to the martyrs industry of jihadism.
