^lpt^aO presente artigo objetiva analisar as principais contribuições do analista e pediatra inglês Donald W. Winnicott sobre a constituição de uma teoria da comunicação no processo maturacional. Discute-se primeiramente a comunicação não verbal estabelecida entre o par mãe-bebê e expressa por meio de espelhamento e subjetivação, para, em seguida, discutir três formas de não comunicação: a não comunicação simples, relacionada aos estados tranquilos e de não integração vividos pelo bebê; a não comunicação ativa, expressão da saúde psíquica e originária da relação materno-infantil através de gestos, expressões ou das primeiras formas de linguagem verbal; e, por fim, a não comunicação reativa, essencialmente patológica e oriunda das falhas ambientais durante o processo maturacional.^len^aThis paper aims to analyze the main contributions of the English analyst and pediatrician Donald W. Winnicott on theory of communication in the maturational process. I discuss primarily the non-verbal communicating established between mother-infant pair and expressed through mirroring and subjectivity, to then discuss three forms of not-communicating: the simple not-communicating, related to peaceful states and not experienced integration the baby; the active not-communicating, expression of mental health and originally from maternal and child relationship, lived through gestures and expressions or the earliest forms of verbal language and, finally, the reactive not-communicating, essentially pathological and arising by environmental failures during the maturational process.
