^lpt^aNeste artigo, busco abordar a problemática do feminino em psicanálise a partir da consideração ao percurso de uma artista plástica contemporânea: Cindy Sherman. Tomando por base suas referências ao tema em suas produções, constatamos que para a artista o feminino aparece não como lugar de castração e tampouco como reiteração da lógica fálica, mas como algo além, que suscita novas vias de reflexão. Abordo, então, os componentes de ironia em suas produções e sua tendência ao grotesco, na medida em que ambos apontam para uma consideração da feminilidade por essa outra via, em que se aproxima ao estranho e ao estrangeiro nos modos de constituir um campo para a subjetividade.^len^aIn the present article, we tackle the theme of femininity in psychoanalysis from the point of view of a contemporary artist’s trajectory, Cindy Sherman. Based on her references to the theme above within her works, we conclude that femininity doesn’t present itself as the place to castration, neither as the reiteration of a phallic logic, but as something beyond, giving rise to new reflections. We then approach the irony components within her work, as well as her inclination towards grotesquery, since both of them put femininity in another perspective, getting the close to the ideas of the unfamiliar and the foreigner as ways of constituting a field for subjectivity.
