Is repetition an efficient theoretical concept to think the body in Psychoanalysis? Could the incidences of repetition be demonstrated by observing the phenomenon of pain? The several manifestations of this phenomenon follow, as we can see all through the Freudian theory, also distinct ways, in accordance to its two instinctual logics. From the perspective of the first instinctual dualism, repetition could be revealed in the body by it’s symptoms, according to the theory of the neurotic symptoms formation. The introduction of the death instincts would enables us to consider those patients through the driving overflow’s point of view, as well as allows us the understanding of repetition’s compulsion phenomenon as an expression of an extreme and traumatic driving content in the body.
