Disso decorre o distanciamento de contato com o ser interior, especialmente sob a forma de dificuldades na experiência de existência própria. Assim, agitação e ruídos ocupam o self, como produtos relativamente autônomos, causando dispersões e vazios. A insônia simples liga-se, portanto, à fragilidade do self, que torna a pessoa um campo de pouso a objetos que se alojam, quando falta verdadeiro contato consigo própria.^len^aInsomnia is usually associated with simple death drive, which moves away the loving experience of the person with its own self.
