SILVA, Maria Luiza Iusten da; VIEIRA, Mauro Luís    SCHNEIDER, Daniela Ribeiro. Father involvement in families of child with autistic spectrum disorder: contributions of the Bioecological Theory of Human Development. []. , 36, 90, pp.66-85. ISSN 1415-711X.

Father involvement can be described in terms of interaction, availability and responsibility. In order to study it, it is important to understand the context in which the father is inserted. In the case of families with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, involvement will be influenced by the syndrome‘s characteristics, the impact of the diagnosis in the family, the broader context in which public policies and support social are involved, by the father's work, the couple's relationship and the own beliefs about disability. One theory that aids in this understanding is the Bioecological Theory of Human Development, because it understands development as a multidetermined process, influenced by many interrelated factors. In this article, the objective is to carry out some theoretical and epistemological considerations of this theoretical perspective, considering the father involvement with children with ASD as the object of study. Moreover, this theory includes the reality from the dialogism between objective and subjective, thinks man as an interrelational being, and conceives different modes of knowledge production about the involvement of the father
