^lpt^aO presente trabalho pretende discutir unia prática que vem surgindo recentemente em algumas instituições de ensino particulares: o acompanhamento terapêutico (AT) dentro da escola. Trata-se de escolas regulares (ou seja, para crianças "normais") que têm uma proposta de inclusão de crianças com graves distúrbios do desenvolvimento. Nessa perspectiva da inclusão, o acompanhante terapêutico teria a íunção de fazer a integração da criança com o restante do grupo e com o professor, como uma forma de ajudá-la a se vincular ao processo de aprendizagem. Nota-se que existe, então, um entrecruzamento entre objetivos pedagógicos e terapêuticos. Pelo relato de uma experiência de AT dentro da escola, nos propomos a discutir algumas questões relativas à função terapêutica desse trabalho.^len^aThe present paper comments oh the clinical modality of thev.ipeutic follow-up, or therapeutic monitoring, recently carried in a number of private schools thai are basically structured for "normal" children but which also propose to include children with serious developmental disturbances. In these settings, the therapeutic monitor is responsible for processing the inclusion, or integration, ol the handicapped child into his or her class and with his or her teachers, with the objective of helping the child to fit into and accept the learning process. There is therefore a combination of educational and therapeutic objectives. The article is based on the account of an experience in therapeutic monitoring inside a school, and discusses issues related to the therapeutic function involved in this type of work.
