^lpt^aIniciando com o exame da experiência de construção de um dos setores de Saúde Mental no Hospital Universitário Pedro Ernesto, identifico a inserção da psicanálise nessa construção em três tempos: o instante de ver, o tempo de compreender e o momento de concluir. Isso me leva ao axioma de que a psicanálise não só tem uma grande contribuição a dar para fazer valer um lugar específico no hospital, como também precisa instrumentalizar-se, cada vez mais, para poder sustentar tal contribuição. Parto da hipótese de que ela se instrumentaliza quando se sustenta em um aprofundamento teórico cada vez maior, única forma de fazer frente à fragmentação do sujeito baseada na idéia de um indivíduo cerebral, idéia que foraclui aquele, colocando em cheque tudo o que já foi possível pensar quanto à relação médico-paciente.^len^aBegining with the construction of one of the mental health sections in the Pedro Ernesto University Hospital, I identify the presence of psychoanalysis in this construction process through three moments: the instant of Glance, the time of understanding and the moment of conclusion. This drives me to the axiom that psychoanalysis not only has a hudge contribution to sustain a particular place in the hospital, but that it also has do get always better instrumentalized in order to optimize this sustenance. I therefore depart from the hypothesis that psychoanalysis gets this sustenance by increasing theoretical studies, only way to stop the fragmentation of the subject based on the idea of a cerebral individual, idea that forcloses the subject, threatening all possible medical-patient relationship.
