^lpt^aEste artigo é fruto da pesquisa realizada junto ao Hospital Santa Cruz que objetivou investigar como os profissionais da saúde entendem a atuação e as funções do psicólogo no hospital, bem como conhecer o papel e a importância deste profissional na composição da equipe multiprofissional. Para tal, foram realizadas entrevistas semi-estruturadas com os variados profissionais da equipe nas alas São Francisco e UTI Neopediátrica: 2 médicos, 2 Fisioterapeutas, 2 Enfermeiros, 2 Técnicos de Enfermagem, 2 Nutricionistas e 2 Assistentes Social. Os eixos de investigação foram: (1) atribuições do psicólogo hospitalar; (2) importância do psicólogo em uma equipe multiprofissional e (3) interação da equipe multiprofissional. Para a análise de dados, utilizou-se a análise de conteúdo, segundo Bardin. O estudo mostrou que as equipes consideram o trabalho do psicólogo fundamental para o entendimento do processo saúde-doença, bem como para o pacientes e seus familiares.^len^aThis article is the result of a research conducted at the Hospital Santa Cruz which aimed to investigate how health professionals understand the performance and functions of the psychologist in the hospital, as well as to learn about the role and importance of this professional in the composition of the multidisciplinary team. For this porpose, semistructured interviews were conducted with various professionals in the team of San Francisco wing and Neopediatric ICU: 2 Doctors, 2 Physiotherapists, 2 Nurses, 2 Nursing Technicians, 2 Nutritionists and Social Workers 2. The axes of research were: (1) hospital psychologist assignments; (2) the importance of the psychologist in a multi-professional team and (3) multidisciplinary team interaction. For data analysis, content analysis, according to Bardin was used. The study showed that teams consider the work of the psychologist is fundamental to the understanding of the health-disease process, as well as to the patients and their families.
