In Brazil, cancer occupies the second leading cause of premature death. Health care policies for cancer must guarantee universal access to palliative care. The objective was to outline the psychotherapeutic practices offered in palliative care to patients diagnosed with terminal cancer and to verify the impacts of these interventions. It is an integrative literature review, in the LILACS, SciELO, PePSIC and Medline databases, with the Medical Subject Headings: neoplasms, psychology, psycho-oncology, hospice care and terminal care. Were included: complete articles, in any language, published from 2008 to 2018, that addressed the objective of the investigation, which may be observational or experimental, reports of experiences or case studies. The study corpus consisted of eight articles. It was identified the offer of the Concreteness Training, the farewell ritual, the psychological attendance, psycho-oncological interventions, the Dignity Therapy and the Family Dignity Intervention. The impacts identified were a decrease in the symptoms of anxiety, depression and distress, as well as an improvement in the sense of dignity and quality of life.
