^lpt^aO presente artigo é um texto didático introdutório ao tema do comportamento verbal, numa perspectiva analítico-comportamental. Caracteriza-se o comportamento verbal como comportamento operante. Apresentam-se aspectos distintivos entre o comportamento verbal e os demais comportamentos operantes. Algumas categorias básicas de comportamento verbal são referidas ao final do texto.^len^aThis paper is a didactic introductory text to the verbal behavior theme, in a behavioral-analytic perspective. The verbal behavior is characterized as operant behavior, but there are some differences between the verbal behavior and the others operant behaviors. Some basics categories of verbal behavior are refereed at the end of the paper.
