^lpt^aA pressa do mundo contemporâneo já foi indicada por Freud como um dos componentes modernos do mal-estar na cultura. Ela tem como corolário a produção incessante de imagens, na virtualização da vida. Esse trabalho problematiza a incidência da virtualidade nas condições constitutivas da experiência, tal como a psicanálise permite compreendê-la. Retomando a distinção inaugural do ensino de Lacan entre fala plena e fala vazia, propomos a função crítica do silêncio como necessária ao ato singular de "tomar a palavra".^len^aThe haste of the world contemporary already was indicated by Freud as the modern components of the malaise in the culture. It has as corollary the incessant production of images, in the virtualization of life. This article discuss the incidence of the virtual in the constituent conditions of the experience, such as the psychoanalysis allows to understand it. Retaking the distinction original of Lacan it enters full and empty speech, we consider the critical function of silence as necessary to the singular speech acts.
