Conduct Problems (CP) are divide into Conduct Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder, most common in males, being characterized by insensitivity behaviors, troubled relationships with others, physical aggression/conflict with others, opposition to authority figures and infringement of rules. The main objective of this study is to conduct a review of the literature in different countries where CP in childhood/adolescence occurs, with particular focus on Brazil. It was identified two systematic reviews besides articles, thesis/dissertations with most of the data produced outside Brazil. The findings pointed out: (1) average prevalence rate of Conduct Disorder of 3.6% and 3.5% to Oppositional Defiant Disorder; (2) main factors associated with CP: quality of home/community environment where children/adolescents live; (3) exposure to CP can lead to adverse consequences throughout life, including use/abuse of alcohol/substances, development of other mental health problems, problematic relationships, unemployment/financial difficulties; (4) negative impact of the CP in the academic life; (5) social/economic cost to the person and to the society. In conclusion: there's a need for new Brazilian studies that help understand the scenario of CP in childhood/adolescence, contributing to social, psychological, academic and economic fields of CP individuals, their families and all the society.
