ROCHA, Marina Monzani da    CAROLINA FERNANDES DA MATTA, Ana. Assessment of pre-scholar emotional/behavioral problems on the fathers and mothers' perspective. []. , 18, 2, pp.65-82. ISSN 1519-0307.  https://doi.org/10.5935/cadernosdisturbios.v18n2p65-82.

Even if both parents live with their child in the same context, the interaction that each one of them has with her is different, as is their perceptions about this child's behavior. This study aimed at verifying the agreements and disagreements on the assessment of emotional/behavior problems by parents of preschool children. For that, 19 fathers and mothers of children aged 2-4 years old, students of municipal children's schools, answered the CBCL/1.5-5 (Child Behavior Checklist). The Spearman's correlation scores between informants' scores varied from -0.171 to 0.464 for the different CBCL/1.5-5 scales. The related-samples Wilcoxon signed rank tests did not indicate significant differences between the mean scores. Concordance indexes considering CBCL/1,5-5 scores in the normal vs. clinical range varied from non-agreement to moderate agreement. The highest agreement found was for the Oppositional Defiant Problems (Kappa = 0.477) and Sleeping Problems (Kappa = 0.441). Even if more similarities than differences were found, it is defended the importance of multiple informants' assessment for screening behavioral problems and to achieve a better comprehension of the clinical condition.
