AMBRA, Pedro. Gender and identification.Pedro Ambra. []. , 35, pp.43-50. ISSN 1676-157X.

Considering the main role of the tension in the knowledge production in psychoanalysis, this essay aims to give some hints for a possible convergence between the question of the so-called gender identities and one of Lacan's identification theories, specifically the one presented in the seminar of 1961-1962. After revisiting some developments on the subjects' constitution, the trait unaire context, as well as the identity principle critique - also present in Butler -, we propose that que gendered identification process can be reconsidered as a performed response to the desire of the Other.
