^lpt^aPartindo do reconhecimento de que a assistência psiquiátrica pública baseia suas práticas institucionais sobre discurso legitimador de cunho organicista, investiga sua penetração ideológica junto à clientela, através de entrevista individual de 60 mulheres internadas. Constata que é pequena a penetração do discurso competente, predominando, entre os sujeitos, explicações psicossociais.^len^aStarting from the acknowledgment that the public psychiatric assistance has its institucional legitimacy based on theoretical model of an organicistic type, the authors investigate the ideological penetration of this model among the patients. Analysing individual interviews of sixty interned women, they conclude that psychosocial explanations are predominant among the individuals.
