^lpt^aResumo O tema central do artigo, sem pretender esgotar a questão, é a produção do conhecimento científico em educação. Seu objetivo é continuar uma trajetória de interrogação sobre os pressupostos do processo de conhecimento em educação, examinando, agora, a construção teórica do objeto. Esse exame é realizado a partir da discussão, ainda inicial e provisória, de elementos da análise marxista sobre o processo de produção do conhecimento científico. A epistemologia marxista argumenta que o método científico para o conhecimento da realidade não começa, a rigor, do real em si, mas de um campo teórico definido. Esse entendimento significa uma forma totalmente contrária à forma tradicional de pensar o trajeto do conhecimento, especialmente na pesquisa em educação.^len^aAbstract The central theme of this paper, not intended to put an end to the subject, is the production of scientific knowledge in education. Our main aim is to put forward a questioning trajectory on the foundations of the process of knowledge in education, examining, at this moment, the object's theoretical construction. This approach is performed departing from the discussion, still initial and provisory, of elements of the Marxist analysis on the process of production of scientific knowledge. The Marxist's epistemology argues that the scientific method in order to know the reality does not begins, necessarily, with the real itself, but in a defined theoretical field. This understanding is in opposition to the traditional form of thinking the course of knowledge, especially in research in education
