^lpt^aEste trabalho tem como objetivo discutir questões referentes aos papéis de gênero nas relações familiares contemporâneas, onde coexistem o “modelo antigo” e o “modelo novo” de família, ressaltando a tensão existente nos registros identificatórios da “nova” mulher e do “novo” homem. Lançando mão de contribuições teóricas da psicologia social e da psicanálise, utilizamos os conceitos de papel, identidade, ideais, identificação e expectativas para compreender as mudanças na família e a transformação do masculino e do feminino na contemporaneidade^lpt^aThis paper has the aim of discussing issues regarding gender roles in contemporary family relationships, where “new” and “old” family models coexist, highlighting the tension existent in the identifications of the “new” woman and the “new” man. In accordance with theoretical contributions stemming from the areas of social psychology and psychoanalysis, we use the concepts of role, identity, ideals, identification and expectations to understand changes in the family, as well as the transformation of masculinity and femininity in contemporary society.
