^lpt^aA pesquisa “Espaço urbano contemporâneo e subjetividade: um foco especial sobre as favelas do Rio de Janeiro”, desenvolvida no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Psicologia Social da UERJ, a partir de maio de 2005, tem como objetivo a análise da história e das características da diferenciação e da segregação socioespacial, desenvolvidas na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, bem como da produção de estigmas sociais e territoriais, confrontando teorias existentes com a realidade carioca. Igualmente, são avaliados os impactos de políticas públicas - como o Programa Favela-Bairro - sobre a população e os embates travados na tentativa de integração das favelas aos bairros formais da cidade. O trabalho caminha na interface da Psicologia com as Ciências Sociais, mantendo sempre em cena o interesse em ampliar o entendimento da produção de subjetividade do homem urbano contemporâneo.^len^a“Contemporary Urban Space and Subjectivity: a special focus on the slums of Rio de Janeiro” has been developed on the Program of Pos-graduation in Social Psychology of the UERJ since may 2005. It aims to analyse the history and the characteristics of the differentiation and the socioespacial segregation, developed in the city of Rio de Janeiro, as well as the production of social and territorial stigma, comparing general theories with the peculiar reality of the city. Further, the impacts of public politics, such as the “Programa Favela-Bairro, on the population are evaluated, and also the conflicts resulting from the attempt of integrating the slums to the formal quarters of the city. The present work - proceeding in the interface of Psychology and Social Sciences - aims at adding to the understanding of the production of subjectivity of the contemporary urban man.
