OLIVEIRA, Letícia Langlois    HUTZ, Cláudio Simon. Interaction patters in families of adolescentes with anorexia nervosa restrictive and bulimic subtipes: semelhances and differences. []. , 8, 3. ISSN 1808-4281.

Literature suggests there are differences between the family environment of adolescents whether they suffer from the restrictive subtype of anorexia or from the bulimic subtype. The purpose of this study is to compare the interaction of the members within these two families: one of a girl diagnosed with the restrictive subtype of anorexia nervosa, and the other of a girl with the bulimic subtype. The design employed was the “Case Studies”. Information was obtained through research tools such as the Initial Interview, the Structured Family Interview and Parental Educative Practices Interview. The main observation suggests significant differences in the interaction patterns of each family. In the first family, it was observed the presence of dysfunctional and rigid rules, and tendency to avoid conflict expression. The second family showed difficulties in individualization, destructive manifestation of aggression, inadequacy of the roles and an absence of communication sintony between the members.
