HEUMANN, Sabine    CAVALCANTE, Lília Iêda Chaves. Routines of children and adolescents in institutional childcare: descriptive study. []. , 70, 2, pp.22-37. ISSN 1809-5267.

The purpose of this study was to describe and compare the activities, companies and environments typical of the routine of children and adolescents in host institutions in three regions of Pará, according to age group. The Routine Inventory (RI) was applied and the results showed a greater frequency, during the week, of the activities: sleep, rest or awakening (M = 678 and Sd = 113.0 for children, M = 597 and Sd = 78.5 for adolescents), pairs companionship (M = 371 and Sd = 180.2 for children and every activity (M = 743 and Sd = 431.3 for adolescents) and the room environment (M = 759 and Sd = 180.2 for children, M = 656 and Sd = 80.2 for adolescents). The results were similar at weekends, except for the most frequent companionship for children, which became other hosts accompanied by professionals (M = 729 and Sd = 579.0). It was concluded that the observed routines presented some constancy and their elements varied little. This scenario may not favor the development of this public, which should be analyzed systematically.
