The present article constitutes in a contribution on participatory methodologies applied to families benefited by projects related to public policies on the development in regions where there is water scarcity. The study has focus on women from the interior of Paraíba state, in the Semi-arid region of the northeastern Brazil. The conceptual framework is based on feminist participatory methodology issues, considering gender aspects in water use, relying on the cultural studies of the daily life and on the criticism founded on the "coloniality" of the development dimension, which often do not include female labor, maintaining traditional tasks considered "natural" for women.
