This study deals with the practice of Community Health Agents (ACS) in socially vulnerable territory based on two important concepts within the theoretical-methodological framework of socio-historical psychology: suffering and power of action. We have given visibility to the question of gender that transversalizes the constitution of this professional category in the light of the dialectic exclusion / inclusion that rescues the affectivity in the reflection of the psychosocial processes. It is a qualitative study that had the participant research as a guide to the procedures used. The results point to the experience of different affections experienced by these women who experience violence, misery and exclusion on a daily basis. If, on the one hand, occupying the place of subalternity, both in the public and private spheres implies experiencing ethical-political suffering and humiliation, on the other the opportunity to be ACS has expanded the repertoire of life of these women in the struggle for happiness and Recognition.

: community health workers; gender; afectivity; social vulnerability; subjectivity.
