From a qualified and welcoming listening to the demands of community health agents, working in the Family Health Strategy (FHS) in a region of high vulnerability, related to the daily suffering triggered by work, we seek to discuss the contributions of the group strategy as a tool for professional qualification. This qualitative work had the Grounded Theory on Data as a reference for the systematization and analysis of results from field diaries, complemented by the focus group, carried out from 2009 to 2010. The group activity, when sensitive to the needs and demands of the group, based on doing together, on exchanging experiences, can move participants to act, making them themselves agents of change. Thus, the group can be a creative and supportive space for strengthening citizenship and professional qualification, collaborating with actions to promote and prevent health problems and to tackle social determinants.
