The study aimed to analyze the speeches and conduct of women registered in the Family Health Unit regarding alcohol abuse. This consumption generates moral judgment, prejudice and stigma, as well as causing damage to your social, mental and biological life. Search qualitative, descriptive-exploratory research, conducted with nine women, used semi-structured interviews, which is one of the most common choice strategies for working on social representations. It found that women with alcohol abuse meant pleasure and alleviate suffering. They declared no damage related to this consumption. Even in the face of some damage, blackouts, falls, unprotected sex, infertility and premenstrual syndrome. They did not relate these damages to consumption and stated that they had no professional guidance on the subject. Alcohol was anchored not being a drug. The results suggest a warning about the probable psychosocial impact around alcohol abuse in these women's lives.
