^lpt^aEm 1888, Vincent Van Gogh decide se mudar para o sul da França com a intenção de encontrar o clima e a paisagem que estimulassem sua criatividade, também pretende fundar uma colônia de artistas. No início, consegue se reunir com seu colega e amigo Paul Gauguin e ali acontece um dos episódios mais enigmáticos de sua biografia, o corte que ele próprio fez em sua orelha esquerda. Este episódio levou o artista a elaborar dois auto-retratos onde aparece com a orelha direita vendada. Por que aparece, na pintura, com a orelha direita vendada se o corte ocorreu na orelha esquerda? Por que Vincent não pintou sua orelha esquerda? Do ponto de vista do senso comum poderíamos responder rapidamente que se retratou olhando-se no espelho. Porém esta possibilidade, aparentemente sem transcendência, supõe uma série de transformações que a subjetividade de Vincent, talvez, não estivesse em condições de levar a cabo. A partir destas observações iniciais, trataremos de introduzir o complexo cruzamento entre arte e loucura recorrendo a certas teorizações realizadas no âmbito da filosofia, da literatura, da física e da psicanálise. Entendemos que não nos guiam critérios academicistas, nem ecléticos. Trata-se simplesmente de um ensaio que - a partir da subjetividade do autor - pretende oferecer uma resposta a esta enigmática questão.^len^aIn 1888 Vincent Van Gogh decides to go to the south of France. He has the intention to find a climate and a landscape , that favores his creativity . He also wants to create an artist´s community . He was able to joint his friend Paul Gaugin and at that moment occurs one of the most rare events in its biography: “ his left ear cut”. This episode moves Van Gogh to paint two self-portraits where he happens to appear with his bandage right ear..... This essay has been written based on the perception of this detail. I wonder why in these paints the right ear is bandeged when the left ear is the one that has been hurt. Why doesn´t Vincet pain his left ear? We can argue that he has painted himself watching him in a mirror. . But this possibility implies a quantity of transformatios that Van Gogh´s subjectivity has no possibility . Taking bases in these observations we introduce ourselves in the intersection between art and madness basing our theories in certain observation ade from filosophy, literature even from physics and psychoanalysis. We understand that we are not guided by academic criteria nor eclectic. The aim of the author, from his subjectivity, is to give an answer to his enigmatic question.
