^lpt^aA pesquisa objetivou conhecer as experiências com a violência urbana através de entrevistas realizadas com 17 pessoas - vítimas e pessoas que com elas mantinham diferentes graus de proximidade - por meio da metodologia de investigação em rede, em que os entrevistados indicavam outros que souberam da ocorrência. As entrevistas abordaram os seguintes itens de interesse: informações dos casos de violência e seus efeitos, bem como estratégias de enfrentamento da violência. Os dados, organizados através da Análise de Conteúdo, indicaram a presença de efeitos emocionais e comportamentais, como prevenção e mudança de rotina, sendo mais evidentes nas pessoas que souberam do ocorrido através da vítima; banalização da violência; sentimentos diversos em relação à vítima e ao agressor; descrença no sistema de segurança pública e prevalência de estratégias individuais no enfrentamento da violência, além do medo decorrente de um imaginário social onde a violência estaria prestes a acontecer.^len^aThe research aimed to learn about the experience with urban violence through interviews conducted with 17 people, victims and people who had different degrees of closeness, through the methodology of research in network, in which the interviewees indicated others that known of the occurrence. The interviews addressed the following items of interest: information of the cases of violence and its effects, as well as strategies to confront the violence. The data, organized by the Content Analysis, indicated the presence of emotional and behavioral effects, such as prevention and change of routine, and it’s most evident in people who knew what happened through the victim; trivialization of violence; different feelings in relation to the victim and the aggressor; disbelief in the system of public security and prevalence of individual strategies in the face of violence, in addition, the fear caused by an imaginary social that violence would happen now.
