The objective of the study is to present an integrative review of scientific literature about conjugality. The key-word utilized was conjugality in bases LILACS, SciELO and PEPsic. Had been selected articles in period 1970-2008. By the selection criterion, had been recovered 14 publications. The studies not only approach the conjugality  inside of the marriage, but in the cohabitation, the transitions for the marriage, and the parentality, in the remarriages, separations, beyond the homoaffectives unions. Amongst the theoretical perspectives used in the selected studies, the psychoanalitical and social construcionism referential were prevailed. We conclude that the crisis of the conjugality in after-modernity has generated new psychotherapeutics possibilities for couples, following the changes contemporaries who had resized the institution of the marriage. The research was regulated in this movement of deconstruction/dissolution and reoriented the familiar arrangements, which are producing new sociocultural organizations, as well as in the transformations in subjectivizing standards and the modalities of social, affective and sexual entailing.
