Support at work depends on how employees perceive the company's recognition of his work. Some models analyze this support, including the demand-control model. The study evaluated the relationship between organizational support and job satisfaction of employees of an oil company in Brazil. It was a cross-sectional study with 489 (65.6%) patients of the total 745. Men predominated (68.2%), married (71.5%), higher (56.6%) aged 41 to 50 years (55.3%) and average compensation of 9.1 minimum wages. The association between job satisfaction and social support in the company showed that approximately four times more employees with high levels of social support were satisfied at work, revealing that the higher the level of social support, greater satisfaction affirming the importance of interpersonal relationships in the workplace on worker satisfaction.
