ESTEVES, Carolina Marocco    PICCININI, Cesar Augusto. The meeting with the primitive in the NICU: contributions of the winnicottian clinic from a case study. []. , 13, 2, pp.500-523. ISSN 1983-3482.  https://doi.org/10.4013/ctc.2020.132.07.

The aim of the current study was to investigate the scope and limits of the Winnicottian clinic of early stages in the care of one primiparus mother and her premature born daughter. Thirteen consultations were made during the baby's hospitalization in the NICU. A single case study design was used. The material was organized in the form of a clinical story and revealed that the mother was in a regressive state, which with her premature daughter's became even more disorganized. The results revealed that the mother's deep disintegration did not allow her to handle her daughter well. Consultations based on the holding and on sensitive listening helped the mother to become more integrated and closer to the daughter. Evidence indicated the importance of sensitive professional listening, attentive to the mother's psychic world, which contributed to the psychic integration of the premature baby.
