A deeper knowledge about interpersonal relationships' dynamics may be extremely useful for organizations. Although studies about interpersonal relationships are not much explored by researchers in management, they may contribute to theoretical advances in contemporary organization management and to the training of professionals in the area. This paper aims at discussing the proposai of Robert Hinde to organize a science of interpersonal relationship and its relevance for organizational studies; it attempts, also, to establish connections between Hinde's proposal and the area of personnel administration. This theoretical discussion was based on Robert Hinde's works dedicated to personal relationships, on some classic works in management science and on a parcel ofthe production ofcontemporary organizational studies. The concepts and ideas organized by Hinde as a theoretical framework for a science of relationships have been identified and presented and links between Hinde's proposal and contemporary organizational studies have been discussed. It is suggested that Hinde's proposal is extremely useful as a theoretical framework to guide research in personal relationships, in management research and also for professional training in the area
