^lpt^aO artigo aborda o comprometimento organizacional a partir de uma nova medida de atitudes e comportamentos, a Escala de Intenções Comportamentais de Comprometimento Organizacional (EICCO), que se baseia em intenções comportamentais. A pesquisa teve um universo de 124 pessoas, com dados coletados por meio de questionários, dos quais 47 devidamente preenchidos e devolvidos. Foram analisadas as intensidades do comprometimento do indivíduo com a organização e a justificativa das decisões tomadas, considerando o peso das bases afetivas e instrumentais. A pesquisa foi realizada em uma empresa do ramo de informática de Belo Horizonte. Os resultados indicaram que os funcionários da empresa pesquisada apresentam alta intensidade de comprometimento^len^aThis article discusses the organizational commitment from a new attitude behavioral scale - the scale of behavioral intention of the commitment toward the organization - EICCO. This scale is based on the behavioral intention. The universe of the research is composed by 124 individuals. The data collection was carried out through questionnaire, 47 of these questionnaires were properly filled out and returned. The intensities related to the individual commitment toward the organization were analyzed and the justification of the decisions made considering the weight of the instrumental and the affectionate basis. The research was carried out in an enterprise in the it field located in Belo Horizonte - MG. The results point out that the employees of the organization studied show high level of commitment
