The goal of this study is to understand the impact of following a military police officer career on the aspects of life for this professional, including family environment, affective and relational life. Five military officers, regardless of their rank, all of whom had a minimum of 10 years experience at a Military Police Battalion in the city of São Paulo, were interviewed. The interviews were semi-directed using a script and were conducted in a non-pre-determined private area. The interviews were audio recorded, with the authorization of the participants and transcribed later. Interviews were analyzed in the following categories: career, social impact, family impact, and personal impact. This report points towards the repercussions of being exposed to the risks and the violence inherent in their work, on their relationships, life in the community, and family contacts.
