Around 35.3 million people around the world are diagnosed with HIV, women being 50% of the global number (Joint United Nations Programe on HIV/AIDS, 2013). In Colombia, the cases showing a proportion of 2:1 compared to men by 2010. Homosexual women had been historically invisible in HIV research and prevention; her low perception of risk of transmission contribute to this problematic. This review is to explore the different studies in the homosexual women HIV risk perception field. This exploration shows the necessity of a methodological and conceptual definition of this construct, necessity of the homosexual women inclusion in the HIV investigation and intervention, being one of the prime challenges to build academic studies with a non heteronormativie conception of sexuality.
