^lpt^aEste artigo apresenta uma das etapas do estudo sobre a dimensão subjetiva da desigualdade social na cidade de São Paulo, que foi realizada em uma região com o segundo pior índice de exclusão. Visa contribuir com os estudos deste fenômeno, ampliando o espaço da temática da desigualdade no âmbito da Psicologia. A pesquisa, iniciada em 2006 por alunos e professores da PUCSP, é realizada na perspectiva da Psicologia Sócio-Histórica. Para identificar e analisar a dimensão subjetiva presente no fenômeno social da desigualdade, foram realizadas entrevistas com grupos de homens e mulheres, escolhidos em diferentes regiões da cidade de São Paulo, caracterizadas como de maior ou menor desigualdade, conforme o Atlas da Exclusão Social elaborado por Pochmann e Amorim (2003). O estudo já permite afirmar que a desigualdade social tem sido caracterizada também por aspectos subjetivos, que dizem das diferentes maneiras das pessoas se sentirem inseridas em São Paulo.^len^aThis article presents one of the stages of the study about the subjective dimension of the social difference in São Paulo city, that was made in the region with the second worst index of exclusion. This article aims to contribute to studies of this phenomenon, broadening the scope of the issue of inequality in the Psychology. The field research, started in 2006 by students and professors of the PUCSP, is performed in view of the Socio-Historical Psychology. To identify and analyze the subjective dimension of this phenomenon in social dissimilarity, interviews were conducted with groups of men and women, chosen in different regions of São Paulo, characterized as more or less inequality by the Atlas of Social Exclusion prepared by Pochmann and Amorim (2003). The makes it possible r suggest that social inequality has also been characterized by subjective aspects, which concern the different ways for people to feel included in São Paulo.
