^lpt^aEste artigo reflete sobre os temas da psicologia abordados dentro de uma comunidade virtual - a rede social Orkut - no período de 2004 a 2011. O acompanhamento e mapeamento dos temas mais comentados e postados durante esse período mostram como os técnicos da área da psicologia e os participantes leigos elegem assuntos pertinentes à sociedade. Os temas foram mapeados em categorias. Notou-se a predominância de temas sociais e éticos, a ampliação das especialidades/serviços da Psicologia, a inundação de questões privadas em busca da "ajuda" psicológica, a relação problemática entre pesquisa e prática, entre outros. A comunidade virtual serviu como um espaço de pertencimento, de queixa social e de um olhar crítico existencial por parte dos sujeitos que a construíram cotidianamente.^len^aThis article reflects on the psychology themes addressed in a virtual community - social networking site Orkut - during 2004 to 2011. In the social networking site Orkut widely used from 2004 to 2011. The monitoring and mapping of the topics most discussed and posted during that period shows how professionals working in the field of psychology and interested laymen and women favored themes pertaining to Brazilian society. Themes were mapped and aggregated in categories. Social and ethical issues predominated including the expansion of Psychology services/specializations, private problems seeking "psychological" assistance, and the relationship between research and praxis. Thus, the virtual community served as a place of belonging, for social complaint and for the expression of existential critiques on the part of those that constituted the network on a daily basis.
