^lpt^aO artigo tem como base a hipótese de que a maternidade na adolescência só se tornou um problema de saúde pública dentro de uma estratégia biopolítica voltada para a produção e reprodução do corpo social que tomou a gravidez na adolescência como objeto privilegiado. Parte de uma pesquisa que pretendeu avaliar o lugar da maternidade na constituição da subjetividade de um grupo de adolescentes, procurando questionar o olhar generalizante e estigmatizante dos discursos oficiais sobre as jovens mães^len^aThis article is based on the hypothesis that adolescence motherhood only became a public health issue within a biopolitical strategy intended to regulate the production and reproduction of social body that took adolescence pregnancy as privileged object. It comes from a research that intended to evaluate the importance of motherhood in the constitution of the subjectivity of a group of teenagers, trying to question the generalizing and stigmatizing tone of the official ideas concerning the young mothers.
